LAO UXO museum and America’s Laotian Legacy

UXO=Unexploded Ordnance

Laos is the most-bombed country on Earth, as it contained the Ho Chi Minh trail used to supply the North Vietnamese during the Second Indochina War. America dropped well over a quarter billion anti-personnel mines and cluster bombs, 30% of which didn’t explode on impact. Seventy or eighty million remain in the soil, needing to be excavated by LAO UXO teams with dainty brushes. Children and farmers are blown up routinely – about once daily a Laotian person dies from an UXO blast.
